Respect people’s private information
Only use names, memories, images and other details you are allowed to use. Do not include someone’s address, money details, passwords, identity documents, private health details or exact location.
Do not threaten or pressure people
Do not use a song to threaten, bully, embarrass, stalk, blackmail or pressure someone. Do not keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop. Jokes and roasts must be welcome, safe and never cruel.
No hate or sexual harm
Do not create content that supports hatred or violence against a protected group. Sexual exploitation, sexual content shared without permission, and any sexual content involving a child are never allowed.
Do not pretend to be someone else
Do not copy a real person’s voice, falsely say they support something or pretend to be an authority. Do not use a song to trick someone about money, debt, identity, an emergency, a prize, a job or a legal matter.
No spam
Do not send large numbers of unwanted messages. Do not get around safety controls, consent rules, unsubscribe requests or marketing laws. Business messages must be relevant, limited and legal.
No illegal or dangerous content
Do not use Dear Arthur to help with fraud, harmful software, weapons, serious crime, encouraging self-harm or instructions likely to hurt someone.
Children and people who may need extra care
A responsible adult should manage content involving children. Do not manipulate or take advantage of children or vulnerable people. Do not collect information you do not need.
What we may do
We may block a request, stop access, turn off a private link, keep relevant records or report activity when needed to protect people, follow the law or keep Dear Arthur safe. We may ask you to explain the situation before we decide.
